After the fiery finale of the previous episode, Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), Junior (Teo Briones), Caroline (Carina Battrick), Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson), and Jake (Zackary Arthur) all find themselves in the local hospital. Jake has rushed there after hearing about the fire at Lexy’s house and is relieved to find everybody is relatively unharmed. It’s only Caroline, Lexy’s younger sister, who remains in danger from smoke inhalation. The secret is out now though. Lexy is aware that Chucky is alive and is shocked that Jake has known all along and voluntarily gave Chucky to her.

“…it’s probably not a stretch to think we’ll be seeing multiple Chuckys in the future.”

Lexy threatens to tell everybody what Jake has done, but when he points out what happens to anybody who starts talking about a living doll, she realizes that she’ll have to team up with Jake to stop the mini murderer. Chucky isn’t really looking too great though. He’s a grotesque, half melted mess who reveals himself to Jake and Lexy when they return to her burned out home to search for him to make sure he’s dead. Jake manages to get his best chance at getting rid of Lexy when she nearly falls off a balcony, but Jake pulls her to safety while Chucky shouts for him to let go.

Eventually, Jake reveals to Devon the secret of Chucky, and the trio get themselves ready to face off against the plastic perpetrator. The episode ends on a particularly bloody note when melted Chucky eliminates a cop in Caroline’s room. This gross, melted Chucky brings up a few questions, as well as a few film moments that I had completely forgotten about. There had been a tiny army of Chucky’s in a previous film, showing that Chucky was able to possess more than one body as well as being able to possess people as well. With Chucky a half gooey pile of plastic, perhaps he’s been getting a hand from a few other Good Guy Dolls.

There’s also the future appearances of Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) and Nica (Fiona Dourif), who happened to be possessed by Chucky and was last seen hitting the road with Tiffany. Hopefully this will all lead to a far bigger battle than Jake and his team are ready for, as I could easily see them defeat this melted Chucky only to realize that there’s many others to deal with. With so many of the previous films characters showing up later in the series, it’s probably not a stretch to think that we’ll be seeing multiple Chucky’s in the future. Especially considering that the original Chucky is not in great shape at all.

Tune In or Tune Out

The series easily continues to be a tune in. With the bloody effects hitting strong points, the hint that there must be more than one Chucky running around, not to mention the gruesome looking Chucky everybody is facing off against at the moment, fans should definitely be tuning in. I’m excited to see where the series goes from here, especially with more of the teens aware that Chucky is alive. Watching a group be able to face off against Chucky is what I’ve been waiting for here, and I’m glad it didn’t take too many episodes to get to.
